To a New Year!

Well, our Christmas season draws to a close and we look forward to a New Year to celebrate. Goal setting starts to fill our thoughts and hope for new accomplishments in the next year.

What do you want to see when you look back next Christmas on the things you have accomplished? Can you see the things you want, as if you already have accomplished or acquired them?

The key to goal setting is writing up your goals, in the present tense, as if you have already achieved your goal. Then look at what you currently have or where you currently are in relation to that goal. What steps do you need to take to get from where you are to what you see in the future? Write down those steps and put a cue date on each step. Now look at each step; If you follow each step, will you accomplish your goal? If not, fill in the steps you need to do and ask yourself the same question. When you finish, picture in your mind your accomplished goal, as if you have completed it. Then get started on your first step.

One of our goals for the New Year will be a new look for our website.

Good luck with your goals for the New Year.

Happy New Year.

Look! Our desert is Snowy!

In Las Vegas, we woke up this morning to white mountains and snow covered foothills. Now we have snowy desert to match our white chocolate popcorn

.

We drove out to Red Rock Park to get a closer look and this is what we saw. We passed others, cameras in hand, parked beside the road getting evidence of the snow before it melts away.

Yes, we are dazzeled by the snow here in the Las Vegas Valley, because we usually have to travel to see it.

Now, it finally feels like Christmas.

Happy Holidays.

As the Holidays approach, warm thoughts of family and friends fill our hearts and we remember great Christmas parties, and New Years Celebrations, filled with friendship and good cheer, Christmas caroling in the snow, and hot chocolate to warm our fingers and tummies.

Every Christmas Eve in our small town, the town or church, hosted a Christmas Eve Party. The school children or the Primary children from the church, (alway the same group) put on a program. One year, we put on a play. We practiced for months to get it all right. How nervous we were to preform in front of our parents and the whole town, (OK all of about 60 people max...). The lights of the stage kept us from seeing anyone in the crowd. We recited our parts and sang our songs with gusto. After the program, sleigh bells sounded in the hall and Santa Claus jogged into the room, in his red and white suite, cheeks flushed from the cold and calling "Merry Christmas to all", with his bag full of toys slung over his shoulder. We lined up, along the wall, smallest to tallest, and took turns sitting on Santa's lap to receive a gift, with our name on it, and a bag of candy; usually hard tack, chocolate covered nuts, candy canes, and an orange. After the party, we'd hurry home and prepare for bed, so that the morning would come faster. One year, we sent our brother down 7 or 8 times to ask if it was time to get up yet, before Mom and Dad gave up any hope of sleep and let us come down to find our toys.

We wish you the best of Holiday Seasons and hope you remember the reason for the season, the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ

, so long ago in a manger. As we contemplate our giving and receiving this year, remember the simplicity of the first gifts given and remember to give from the heart, not just the wallet.

Seasons Greetings

Snowy Chocolate Popcorn

When I created my website, Snowydesertgourmetpopcorn.com, I had a place where people could comment on the popcorn, but the spam bots found it and filled my email up with spam, so I had to close it down. The purpose of creating this blog, is to allow others to share with us their Popcorn experience. Snowydesertgourmetpopcorn.com is a separate entity from Danielle's Chocolates and Popcorn. We started the site as an experiment to learn about internet marketing. I worked for Danielle's Chocolates and Popcorn store for one winter, before they started a web presence and Danielle allowed me to put up a site to sell online.

We have a relationship with the Store and customers in Las Vegas can choose to have the popcorn products delivered, or pick up at the store, by emailing their order through the website. Ordering early for the Holiday season can insure that you receive your order in a timely manner. The Snowy Popcorn has a shelf life of 3 months, when it is left sealed inside the decorative blue gift box, which protects the popcorn and white chocolate from the damaging rays of the sun.

Let us know what you think of Snowy Popcorn.
